International report confirms record-high greenhouse gases, sea levels

August 30, 2021

The "State of the Climate 2020", the authoritative summary on global climate by the American Meteorological Society, was published on August 8, 2020. The 2020 summary is the 31st of these annual reports, and it was created with the input from 530 scientists across 60 countries and tens of thousands of measurements.


Fall Hazards Outlook for the Northern Plains

August 30, 2021

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the National Weather Service published their outlook for natural hazards in Fall 2021 for the Central U.S., including Minnesota. The two-page summary looks at drought conditions and continuing impacts for the remainder of the year.


U of M Sustainable Development Goals Initiative Announce 2021 SDG Research Grant Awards

MCAP scientists Heidi Roop and Suzi Clark, together with Caryn Mohr and Linda Kingery of the Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships, were awarded a $20,000 grant by the University of Minnesota's Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) initiative. The project targets SDG#13, Climate Action, and seeks to train 15 solutions-oriented climate change communicators across Greater Minnesota.


Mississippi headwaters
