MCAP is collaborating with U-Spatial to hire a cohort of three (3) GIS Specialists who will work to identify, develop, and deliver appropriate technology solutions for a variety of projects. The two (2) GIS Specialists placed with U-Spatial will work on a variety of projects with colleagues from throughout all colleges and campuses, as well as clients from the public, private, and non-profit sectors. The MCAP GIS Specialist will to help integrate climate data into decision-making processes through the power of data visualization. The Specialist will produce GIS visualizations and maps to inform Extension programs and support the work of our partners. The ideal candidate is collaborative, passionate about climate adaptation and resilience, and has previous experience in GIS visualization and data analysis. All three Specialists will be able to leverage resources available through the University of Minnesota and U-Spatial to allow for the development of creative solutions that integrate the expertise of the client with the Specialists’ geospatial expertise.
