2025: Organizational Adaptation
Great River Greening is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing nature-based climate solutions through land restoration. Rooted in environmental stewardship, the organization’s mission is to inspire, engage, and lead local communities in conserving and caring for the land and water that enrich our lives. Each year, Great River Greening restores up to 10,000 acres of land across various landscapes—from natural and urban lands to farm and agricultural spaces—using science-based, hands-on restoration and sustainable land management practices. Since its founding in 1995, the organization has restored and sustainably managed over 50,000 acres of Minnesota’s green spaces, with a goal of adding another 50,000 acres in the next five years.
