2026: Individual Adaptation
Most of John's career has been spent building affordable housing and supporting small businesses as the Executive Director of community development nonprofits in Northeast Minneapolis and on the East Side of St. Paul. In 2019, he bridged to solar development and began working primarily in rural Minnesota with cities and Tribes as the Executive Director of the Rural Renewable Energy Alliance. He was then hired as a Managing Director at Fresh Energy in 2023, assisting urban and rural environmental justice communities with decarbonizing and realizing the economic benefits of renewable energy. John has mentored more than 20 undergraduate and graduate interns while at Fresh Energy. He maintains long-standing relationships with St. Catherine's University and the University of Minnesota.
