2026: Transformative Adaptation
Janet Brown has provided project coordination and development support for Sabathani Community Center’s Community Energy Project since May 2020. This $21 million initiative will establish a community resilience hub featuring a geothermal heat pump system, solar energy, and battery storage in Minneapolis.
Prior to this role, Janet served as Associate Director at the nonprofit Climate Generation from 2008 to 2020, working at the intersection of climate education and climate justice.
A longtime neighbor and community member, Janet has been connected to Sabathani for over 30 years. She is deeply committed to climate and energy justice, building organizational capacity, and expanding workforce opportunities in sustainable careers.
