Leveraging AI for the Climate
MCAP is part of a newly funded AI Institute for Climate-Land Interactions, Mitigation, Adaptation, Tradeoffs and Economy (AI-CLIMATE) research institute, funded by NSF and USDA, to leverage artificial intelligence to create more climate-smart practices that will absorb and store carbon while simultaneously boosting the economy in the agriculture and forestry industries.

MCAP Director, Dr. Heidi Roop, joined Ariel Kagan, MN Farmers Union, and Hannah Bernhardt, Medicine Creek Farm, in an interview with MPR News host Angela Davis to discuss the implications on climate change on Minnesota's agriculture and the steps they are taking to create more resilient farms across the state.
Job Opening: 1854 Treaty Authority Climate Specialist
The 1854 Treaty Authority is seeking applicants for a Climate Specialist to assist in understanding and communicating the impacts of climate change on the resources within the 1854 Ceded Territory of northeastern Minnesota and to lead the development of a successful climate change program.
