The Climate Action Handbook

MCAP Director Heidi Roop's Climate Action Handbook offers a roadmap for individual and collective climate action. It presents ideas for evidence-based, approachable solutions that will help prevent climate change from getting worse, while preparing us for the changes we’ve set in motion.

Climate Adaptation Specialist Training

Our Climate Adaptation Specialist Training Program is an opportunity for professionals to develop skills and knowledge in leading practices for climate adaptation, including how to incorporate future climate data in decision-making and long-term planning.

Cultivating Community Climate Leadership

Looking to make an impact on climate change in your community but not sure where to start? Our Community Climate Leaders program, launching in the fall of 2024, offers a guided approach to identify and implement actionable climate solutions.

Technical Assistance

We work with federal, state, tribal and municipal governments — as well as non-profits and private industry — to integrate future climate conditions into long term planning. Current partners include The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service National Wildlife Refuge System, the 1854 Treaty Authority, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, the national design firm HGA, and the Minnesota Corn Research and Promotion Council.
