Job Opportunity: Climate Change Research Scientist

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) is seeking a Climate Change Research Scientist to develop and conduct a research program that will support greenhouse gas mitigation planning work of the agency and other state agencies, with a special focus on natural and working lands.  The position will lead and participate in forecasting efforts, providing particular expertise related to natural and working lands.  The position will also use technical and analytical skills to support agency efforts to consider environmental justice and equity in decision-making and policy and program development and implementation, in particular rural equity considerations.  The incumbent will lead and participate on teams of technical staff from across the MPCA, state enterprise, region, and nation to develop methodologies, identify and improve data sources, and develop and use analytical tools and models.  The position will provide technical expertise and collaborate with other members of the MPCA Climate Unit to conduct rulemaking and develop policies and programs and will provide technical expertise to other parts of the agency, including Environmental Review and Air Permitting, as well as the interagency Climate Change Subcabinet.
