Seeking Adaptation Program Director, Georgetown Climate Center

The Adaptation Program Director leads and oversees advanced research and writing projects and ensures the delivery of quality work products, and provide strategic oversight to our extensive body of work including reports, analysis, and databases.  Reporting to the Executive Director, and supervising the work of three full-time GCC staff members, consultants, and students, the Adaptation Program Director has duties that include but are not limited to: program management; research and policy development; outreach, stakeholder engagement & facilitation; student engagement; and fundraising and grant reporting.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree - J.D. preferred
  • 5 to 7 years' experience in environmental law and policy, including climate adaptation and resilience
  • Experience with state, local, or federal agencies working on topics related to climate adaptation, including equity, environmental justice, sustainability, sea level rise, coastal management and/or land use
  • Demonstrated experience raising funds and managing complex projects
  • Excellent research, speaking, and writing skills
  • Professional judgment toward representing GCC in interactions with senior local, state and federal officials and other stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills, project management skills, writing and editing skills, professionalism, and sound judgment
