THIS SMASHED THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 5.85 INCHES THAT WAS SET IN 1894. A MAJOR ICE STORM STRUCK THE CITY ON THE 22ND AND 23 RD WITH ICE ACCUMUALTIONS OVER A INCH THICK. CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE WAS DONE TO TREES AND POWER LINES WITH MANY RESIDENTS OUT OF POWER FOR SEVERAL DAYS OR MORE. Rainfall and snowfall amounts in columns 7, 8, and 9 are the offical precipitation for DULUTH MINNESOTA.
