The Soil & Water Conservation Districts (SWCD) network maintains the largest collection of raingages in the MNgage program. Supplies of raingages are limited but some districts are still seeking new observers. Your local SWCD office may be able to provide provide equipment to new observers in some locations. A recent study explores the adequacy of gage density. Information on observing techniques, forms, data entry, etc. is available. Annual precipitation total maps are prepared each year. The map of the total precipitation for the 2007 season depicts the extraordinarily wet conditions reported in southeast Minnesota.
